Stockwells would like to advise clients of ongoing external factors currently impacting freight movement and processing throughout the United States. These conditions are beyond carrier control and may result in delays to certain shipments.
Severe Winter Weather Impacts
Significant winter weather across multiple regions of the U.S. is affecting terminal operations, linehaul schedules, and airport activity. Extremely low temperatures across the Midwest and East Coast have created hazardous conditions for drivers, ground crews, and ramp operations. As a result, many carriers and terminals are operating under safety restrictions or with reduced capacity.
While our teams and carrier partners continue to work proactively to limit disruption, transit times may be extended due to these weather-related constraints.
U.S. Customs & Government Communication Disruptions
In addition, widespread email system outages affecting Microsoft-based platforms are currently disrupting communications between logistics providers and U.S. Customs and other government agencies. These systems issues are causing nationwide delays in customs processing, resulting in significantly longer clearance times for both import and export shipments. Some consignments may experience extended delays while these disruptions persist.
Stockwells is monitoring the situation closely and will continue to work with our partners to minimise impacts where possible. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this period and will provide further updates as conditions evolve.
